TikTool - Mobile Winbox App Reviews

I manage bandwidth control in a dorm of 150 rooms and i use routeros v3.20; i rely heavily on winbox gui where i use simple queue to view whos hogging the bandwidth from their realtime tx/rx avg and total, and i dont see it here. Even statistic from each entry itself doesnt work. The bandwidth control works, but how am i supposed to use it if i cant check individual usage? Even if i can, do you expect me to compare it to the other 149 one by one? Second, i use the ip firewall filter to determine who got access and who doesnt by disabling or enabling each room ips forward and input. This app only list all the forward and input entry without any of the ip assigned to it. So for me its only a list of 300 forward and input entry that i have to go in to, in order to check which ip it belongs to. Its practically useless. I guess its kinda my fault to expect this app to be anything close to winbox, and this app definitely has room to grow, but still, pricing it at 14.99 usd for an "immature" apps is too much. I bought the full version coz the lite version can only read, and i dont wanna spend 4.99 usd just for that. You could at least put it up for free so people can at least check if the app works for them or not. I really hope that the developer will see my problem and take it into consideration on how to make this app better. Otherwise, its just another waste of money.

Dont buy it. Its not worth the $14.99, or even $0.99. If youre a novice who just wants to poke around and doesnt understand what theyre looking at, then this is for you. If youre a network administrator who needs to do real work, this is useless. I have about 100 entries in my IP/Firewall/Filter. About 200 in my IP/Firewall/Mangle. This app displays the chain name, not the comment or any other useful info. Other lists are the same. Extremely hard to navigate. A review of the previous version mentioned you cant view multiple devices side-by-side for comparison. This is still true. If you have 30 people connected via VPN and 50 wireless clients, you can only view one at a time. I need a list which can be sorted. The graphs dont appear to be working. When viewing the statistics, not all of the data is displayed (such as the total in/out bytes). Go buy an SSH app and do it via the CLI or buy an RDP/VNC app and use winbox. To the authors, scrap this and start over again. Make it look and function like winbox. Navigating through a bunch of nondescript menus is cumbersome, confusing, and worthless for the IT professional.

This tool was much needed. If I can find the donate button I will be sure to try to return the favor. Love this stuff!

Id love them to mark the TikTool and TikTool First Aide so I know which one is the "lite" version. Otherwise great practical tool to get to your devices ASAP.

Absolutely love this app. Unparalleled in its ability to provide a network manager the option to be in more than one place simultaneously. Wonderful for keeping an eye on your network on the fly. Definitely 9 of 10 only because they are constantly improving the application.

Its a great start, but as it currently is I cant ever see myself using it other than as a "toy". I wont be able to use this app as a way to manage my routers until they add the ability to display comments next to firewall rules, interface lists, proxy rules, route lists, etc. etc. A comment should be shown next to every item list on every screen. When I have 100 firewall rules displayed on a page in the app and they are all just named "forward" or "prerouting" then I have no idea which one to select to modify. As it is now I have to open every rule and look at the comment in the field just to know which rule it is. Displaying the comment field in the list of items would eliminate the need to open every rule individually. I cant believe the devs missed this. This seems like such a simple and obvious feature that is REQUIRED for this app to be of any practical use. This omission makes many of the menus in this app useless. Add this simple comments display feature and I could see this app finally being useful and potentially being 4 or 5 stars. As it is right now its just easier and quicker to use my VNC app and open Winbox to manage my routers. Ideally these item lists should display the same statistics and information that Winbox displays in its item lists. For example, Filter Rules should list each item and show all of the columns Winbox shows like action, chain, src address, dst address, protocol, src port, dst port, in interface, out interface, bytes, and packets. Similarly, the Interfaces window should show things like the TX and RX data throughput fields and have them updating in real time like the Interface List does in Winbox. Finally, I would like to see some tools get added. We should be able to make the routers at least ping something! It would also be nice to do BTests, Ping Speed, and Flood Ping. And I might be asking too much, but Torch would be very nice as well. For now please just add the comments to item lists. Right now I feel like I cant use this app for anything other than rebooting a router. Definitely not worth $14.99. Next add columns with item details in the firewall and interface lists like Winbox does. Finally, some tools would be very much appreciated. Thanks and keep working on this app. Its gonna be awesome!

All in all this app does for me, what I need it to. I use it to monitor whats going on when Im on the go. If something breaks its easier and faster to find wifi, VPN in, and use winbox. Keep up the great work. Its getting much better!

Unless I am missing something this program wont work unless the router can be pinged other mikrotik API apps will work with pings disabled

Good stuff, its a must if You administer a lot of Mikrotik devices. Probably not the best for setting up a new bgp router, but do the job in reconfiguring or staus checking of wireless devices (like check/change channels or disabling devices/firewall rules). It worth every cents to me (at least until no native/better app). Yes, it needs further development and fixes - but what not? (since its based on API, some things displayed differently than in winbox)

It keeps closing and will not work on any of our i5. We have deleted the app and reinstalled. We have tried 5 i5s and it doesnt work right. And crashes - Ocala Mac & PC Repair

Great app for network administrator, especially for those who work with mikrotik router I can do my daily router jobs like NAT, WOL, Filtering, etc while im on mobile position
